Rice Fruit Co. looking forward to Southern Exposure

Supporters of the Southeast Produce Council are steadfast in their dedication to the organization and to its initiatives. Gardners, PA-based Rice Fruit Co. is among the strongest proponents of the council.

Vice President of Sales Brenda Briggs said the company is once again looking forward to the Southeast Produce Council’s 2020 Southern Exposure, being held in Tampa, FL, on Feb. 27-29.

“At our booth, No. 119, we will have our great-tasting premium Eastern apples on hand, with a focus on our KIKU brand, Evercrisp, and Ocean Crisp Honeycrisp apples,” said Briggs. “And we will also have our eye-catching merchandising on display.”

Rice Fruit Co. has been exhibiting at the annual Southern Exposure show every year since 2014.

“This will be our seventh year exhibiting at Southern Exposure, and it is an event we look forward to every year,” noted Briggs. “It provides us with a great opportunity to connect and review how our sales and marketing programs have performed for the year.”

Rice Fruit is, once again this year, pleased with the continued success of its proprietary KIKU apple program. It has a number of promotions timed throughout the calendar year.

“Sales of the KIKU continue to rise at a steady clip,” said Briggs. “We are also very happy with the second year of our OceanCrisp Honeycrisp program. We look forward to continuing to build this brand as volumes increase in the future.

“New this year, we are rolling out our EverCrisp program, which will also be included in our display at Southern Exposure,” she continued. “We really look forward to continuing to discuss EverCrisp at our booth this year.”

Also being featured at the Rice Fruit Co. booth are its two-, three- and five-pound pouches, which will also be included in the Bright Ideas display at the expo.

Rice Fruit Co. is a proud sponsor of the Southern Roots women’s luncheon at Southern Exposure.

The program brings women produce professionals together for a few hours of networking and inspiration.

“Southern Roots highlights all that women bring to business,” said Briggs. “It’s a spectacular event that grows in attendance and impact every year, and we look forward to sponsoring it year after year. It’s a not-to-be missed event.”

She stressed that Southern Exposure provides Rice Fruit Co. with a great opportunity to connect with buyers, industry peers and friends alike.

“At the time of the event we are usually just over half-way through our fresh apple holdings,” she said. “This provides an opportunity to review what went well over the past year and what new ideas are coming for the next.

“Of course, we also love the passion and enthusiasm that goes into the evening activities,” she continued. “We look forward to seeing what the Southern Exposure team has put together for us again this year.”
