Golfers tee off at Tip Murphy Legacy Golf Tournament

4-Denise-De-la-RosaRob-DoolanNeome-Neme-Trisha-Rybolt-404The 2017 Tip Murphy Legacy Golf Tournament was held Monday, Aug. 28 at the Oasis Golf Club outside Cincinnati. Retail and produce attendees enjoyed an afternoon of golf, networking and remembering Murphy's legacy of service to the industry.  Proceeds from the event benefit the United Fresh Start Foundation, supporting salad bars for schools and the foundation’s other programs and activities focused on increasing children’s access to fresh fruits and vegetables. In previous years, this event has helped the foundation provide salad bars to 16 schools.

The 2017 winning foursome was Brent Beerens of Empire Marketing Strategies, Tim Roark of Acosta Sales & Marketing, Adam Heick of Dole Fresh Vegetables and Brittany Vetter of Kroger. Second place went to the team of Dave Yeager of Farm Fresh Direct, Bob Herdeman of Trimble Harvestmark, Steve Schwager of Chiquita  and Todd Melton of Del Monte Fresh Produce. The third place team consisted of Austin Hansford, Seth Stedke, Lindsay Reeman and Eric Olson of Total Quality Logistics.
